About the Author
Mr. Gao Chunming, born in March 1956 in Shanghai, is Director of Shanghai Art Research Institute, Research Fellow, and Chief Editor of the magazine 'Shanghai Artists'. For many years he has devoted himself to the research work of Chinese costumes and history of material civilization. He has taken charge of some of China's national key research projects, edited or presided over the compilation of a number of important works, which include 'Chinese Costumes, Traditional Chinese Costumes and Adornments', and '5000 Years of Chinese Costumes'. Many of these books have been translated into English, German, French, Japanese, Korean.
